VRSonic continues to explore new territory by discovering novel applications for our audio technologies and tools and widening the scope of their usage. VRSonic envisions the use of immersive spatial audio systems in a range of settings, including museums and galleries, retail outlets, public spaces and location based entertainment venues. You are the expert in your own industry! We invite you to contact us and discuss your ideas about how VRSonic technologies can be applied in your setting to meet your needs.

Location Based Entertainment

Entertainment venues have long been interested in the application of three-dimensional sound and its capability for producing immersive sound environments. Since the 1950s sound engineers and researchers have attempted to continually improve the listening experience, both for home entertainment applications and for group enjoyment. Most, if not all, modern movie theaters utilize some form of Surround Sound as a means of bringing the listener to the highest level of spatial sound possible. Surround Sound, which is one form of spatial audio, is essential to the modern theatre experience. Its ultimate goal is for the viewer to be totally immersed in the viewing and listening experience, feeling as if he or she was actually in the environment that is being portrayed.

Current Surround Sound systems however fall well short of creating this immersive experience for the user. VRSonic technology represents a fundamental leap that goes well beyond the capabilities of Surround Sound systems. Our technology creates a truly immersive, three dimensional sound environment that will envelop the user in a highly dynamic sound environment. We call it Experiential Audio and it is the result of our highly advanced sound rendering technology combined with our state of the art soundscape modeling capabilities.

In addition to the use of spatial sound in movie theaters, spatial sound is often used in other location-based entertainment venues. Spatial sound enhances experiences in theme parks, taking the user to another level of enjoyment. While most companies have long been invested in the idea of creating highly engaging visual environments, recognizing its importance to the success of their business, the idea of three dimensional sound is relatively new. Still, spatial sound is common to people's experience of their natural environment and should be an integral component of the immersive experience provided by location-based entertainment. VRSonic's products are perfectly designed to fit into location-based entertainment environments.

Museums and Galleries

Imagine the contrast between walking into a silent museum exhibit about African music and culture versus walking into a sound-rich environment that fully immerses you in a dynamic sonic environment that surrounds you with the sounds of drums, feet pounding the ground in dance, and decorations on costumes making their own music. Far from being a simple musical score, the sound design template for this type of exhibit might include the breathing of dancers, the sound of fire crackling, and other elements of the environment of the musical and dance experience that cannot be captured on a simple soundtrack.

With our ViBe technology we can create rich and dynamic sonic environments that are in constant flux and can even be dynamically controlled to create an interactive user experience. What's more, our technology is agile and can be adapted to any scale, from a low-cost solution for a small exhibit to a large multi-room exhibit.

Retail Outlets

Rather than surrounding consumers with ambient music, retailers and commercial venues have the potential to harness the power of three dimensional sound to create specific soundscapes that promote the comfort and engagement of the consumer and which result in improved sales for the business. Imagine, for instance, that an outdoor supply store could persuade consumers to spend more time at the store or even complete a purchase by utilizing a customized soundscape to engage the consumer. Such a soundscape might include sounds of the ocean, the sound of a light breeze or a field of crickets. A customized sound distribution system could ensure that the soundscape is piped into both the interior and exterior of the store to excite potential customers.

Public Spaces

The potential use of VRSonic's audio technologies in public spaces is truly endless. Sound is highly emotive and spatial audio can provide architects with a powerful new tool to influence how humans experience a space. Going well beyond piped music, VRSonic technology enables architects to design highly dynamic and interesting soundscapes that can help realize their vision for any space. VRSonic has a team of highly skilled sound designers that will work closely with you to achieve your vision.
