SoundScape3D is a unique collection of spatial audio technologies pioneered by VRSonic over the past decade. The result is a spatial audio modeling and rendering engine that allows you to create, render, and display rich and vibrant virtual sonic environments. The following are some of the important features that make this technology unique.
Modeling
Advanced modeling constructs enable you to model the virtual acoustic environment in all its subtleties. These constructs include a novel technique for modeling complex sound emitters called ViBes. ViBes enable sound designers to create dynamic, multi-timbral sound emitters that exhibit dynamic behavior over time. SoundScape3D also supports the modeling of distinct acoustic spaces with the inclusion of acoustically active scene geometry into a scene. SoundScape3D defines an XML schema for describing all of the elements of an auditory scene. This enables the representation of complete auditory scenes, including the dynamic sound animation components, as XML documents that can be loaded by the system.
Animation
SoundScape3D incorporates SoundNet, a patented sound animation technology that provides a level of control over the behavior of sounds in the environment that is not possible with current technology. SoundNet gives you the power to accurately model dynamic, natural acoustic environments or create highly complex, interactive synthetic soundscapes. In addition to SoundNet, SoundScape3D provides other powerful sound animation techniques including flock simulators and random sound fields that can model multiple, pseudo random discrete auditory event phenomenon such as fields of crickets. Finally, path controllers enable sound emitters to be moved along a variety of path specifications including splines, lines, and circles.
Display
No one auditory display technology can satisfy the requirements of all applications. Auditory display customization is usually necessary to achieve good results given the characteristics of an application. SoundScape3D's AdaptiveDisplay technology addresses this problem by providing for a high degree of customization where nearly any auditory display configuration can be specified.
Customization
SoundScape3D technology integrates multiple tools for customization. Config lets you create and configure auditory displays for you application. Profiler lets you customize an auditory display for a particular listener.
