Adaptive Display

AdaptiveDisplay™ technology is an integral part of SoundScape3D. It was invented by VRSonic to provide a high degree of flexibility and customization of the spatial auditory displays created by SoundScape3D. AdaptiveDisplay™ technology makes it possible to create and customize auditory displays specifically for a target application. Instead of rendering audio with a fixed processing pipeline, with AdaptiveDisplay™ technology audio is rendered using logical auditory displays that can then be mapped to an output device.

All of the properties of a logical auditory display can be specified by the user, down to the make up of the audio processing pipeline. Users can create multiple logical audio displays each rendering some or all of the auditory scene and each with its own unique properties. This approach affords users an unprecedented level of customization of the auditory display. Recognizing that not all users require this amount of flexibility in their audio configuration we provide a variety of display templates that can be customized using the Config application.

AdaptiveDisplay™ technology results in an unprecedented control of the auditory experience that is completely independent of the content being presented. Regardless of whether the audio is being presented through headphones or large speaker arrays, the same content is presented as faithfully as possible.
