VRSonic was founded and incorporated in September of 1999. Its mission then, as now, is to pioneer the next generation of emergent spatial audio software and hardware technologies that will allow users to create unique and immersive sonic experiences. We call it "experiential audio" and it occurs when meticulous care and novel technologies are applied to modeling and rendering a soundscape to create a truly immersive audio environment.

VRSonic's work is primarily focused on executing large-scale projects with industrial and commercial applications. To that end, it has imagined and created soundscapes for a wide variety of clients including the Naval Research Laboratory, the Institute for Defense Analysis, and Lockheed Martin. While many customers utilize VRSonic's technology for training and simulation situations that require true to life auditory environments, VRSonic has also worked with museums, theaters, and entertainment venues, to create custom sonic environments.

While VRSonic makes it home minutes outside of Washington DC, in the thriving community of Arlington, Virginia, VRSonic's presence is not limited to the United States. Recognizing the importance of audio technology in a rapidly globalizing marketplace, VRSonic has established offices and a visible market presence in both England and Egypt, with continued expansion planned for the future. VRSonic's well-trained staff and team of expert consultants provide local project development and support, as well as travel to client sites in order to assess their needs and provide expert installations. Given the vast range of spatial audio applications, each customer's needs are evaluated individually and a customized solution is developed.
